Created by the british Alan Blake, navy’s diver in 1954, to keep his team active during winter months where it was inadvisible to dive in open waters.
The displicine consists in to drag a lead disc, “puck”, with sticks through the bottom of the pool to the goal and make as many as possible in two halfs of 15 minutes. It’s as useful the skill at the bottom as the ability to hold your breath (apnoea).
The ingenuity is as important in this discipline as the lung ability or the stick’s use at the pool bottom.
